The end of year overview - Why Learnroll has no XR, AR or VR after its name?
The new naming conventions with Spatial - Image generated with AI/Chat GPT4.0 DaLLE
New devices that enhances visualization and uses spatial immersion to engage, implements various modalities like audio, voice, videos, avatar conversations. The same naming conventions has been seen with recent technology companies using Gen AI to use "AI" for vertical solutions that leverage big technology powered stacks.
There has seen rapid evolvement of these emerging technologies and a center point in many use cases for many industries using "AI" to showcase its artifical intelligence capabilities. For us the use has been very experimental based on use cases as below. the systems are not in production but in experimental or pilot uses on a need by need basis with toolkits aid.
Development Perspective
-The use of Chat GPT 3.5/4.0 has been in testing the use of LLM assistive to generate images, text, summarization and other customization
for Classimmerse which is a framework to create VR immersive content for medical/health educationn integrated with Voice and Haptics capabilities.
The use of AI may have more potential than that we have experimented with in delivering spatial experiences.
-Gen AI will be optionally available as a toolkit to improve the ability to customize and generate level based content, using pre-trained models and cost effective usage.
-We will be using ArborXR a SOC2 compliant MDM to allow B2B bulk deploy of customized experiences. The pre-packaged versions will be securely
deployed as demos for enterprises/institutions who may want to review the platform features for both native and web based solutions. The VR native version do not require internet after it is downloaded.
-XR : The Quest 2(by Meta) is still our primary choice of headset for Native, and we will look to see the potential of Quest 3 in future which uses Snapdragon with Gen AI. Our strategy has been to use Gen AI as an option. The Classimmerse designer portal is part of our roadmap in 2024. Classimmerse currently has updated basic features for undergraduate education with a new spatial audio system and has plans to enhancement based on investment roadmap for better haptics to align to skills training for suturing, wound training, blood pressure measurement, pulse rate measurement or more.
In terms of other Gen AI capabilities we have experimented with is Meta LLAMA2(small models), Google Palm 2 Legacy LLM(medical conversations) and Open AI(LLM GPT).
In Conversation Gen AI space, we created a highly specialized contextual patient with a pre-condition (specifically meant for training not real time uses). You may review a short demo in our solution page
One of the biggest challenges of Gen AI is for use of appropriate security/privacy guardrails and compliances. We use both GCP and AWS for healthcare compliances in cloud and storage including other self-hosted systems.
Use case perspective
The use cases perspectives of solutions is also dependent on how healthcare in US and worldwide adopt new tech enabled solutions.
While we still find resistance to adoption with more experienced professional, the younger Ganz and Millennials in workforce are looking forward to new changes that provides value based learning and reduces burnout. Learnroll team has been consistently integrating reviews and feedbacks from actual user community - higher education students, nurses and physicians in training, vocational users, patient especially women
who do not get optimal care at their clinical visits.
Women healthcare though exists as a domain does not have personalization as needed. Self care help for patients to prevent diseases must be
encouraged for chronic diseases management for conditions like CVD(Cardiovascular Disease). Many patients can prevent diseases and reduce high costs of healthcare expenses proactively with education and training.
The new GenZ also deserve better tools in workforce to reduce time to train, increase productivity and learning based on their generation needs ; aligning to shorter time to engage and learn.
Agile Methodology
We use Lean Safe aligned methodology to help in aligning products with actual business needs. The LEAN SAFE methosology aligns few essential best pracices so that small lean teams can build capabilities for larger organizational domains following iterative approaches.
What if we found ourselves building something that nobody wanted? In that case, what did it matter if we did it on time and on budget? —Eric Ries

1) EVALUATE - Design Thinking Approach - Identify the customer benefits first from various stakeholders.
2) BENEFIT HYPOTHESIS The Lean UX approach uses benefit hypothesis . Avoid Big Design Up-front (BDUF), focusing on creating a hypothesis about the feature’s expected business result.
Classimmerse solution has been piloted with various audiences over few years to find product-market fit and features that are "must have" for business.
3) COLLABORATE on Design with not just internal technical or advisory team but with various diverse stakeholders including the consumers.
4) BUILD Implement and test that hypothesis incrementally with iteravtive demos, pilots and trial deployments with heuristic evaluation, heatmaps/A/B testing and focus group feedback.
Learnroll LLC uses best practices modified and aligned with Lean Agile and Lean UX processes based on SAFE Agile.
